All of Atletico Madrid, Leicester City, and Aston Villa have asked for information about the availability of Inter defender Stefan de Vrij on a free transfer next summer.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Dutchman’s priority is still to see whether or not he can agree a contract extension with the Nerazzurri.

De Vrij’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2023, although the 30-year-old is still looking to extend past the summer.

The player is hoping that he can agree a new deal on at least the same salary terms as his current contract, which sees him earn €4.2 million net per season.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are only ready to offer €3-3.5 million net per season in wages.

Should de Vrij prove unable to agree a new deal with Inter, there would be no shortage of transfer interest in him.

All of Atletico, Villa, and Leicester have contacted the Dutchman’s representatives regarding the possibility of a free transfer in the summer.
