Inter are considering four possible courses of action as far as their main shirt sponsorship over the rest of the season.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri could find a direct replacement for DigitalBits, go the rest of the campaign without a sponsor, adorn the shirt with a charity sponsor, or continue with DigitalBits.

The mounting financial issues of DigitalBits as they have failed to make the agreed-upon payments on their sponsorship deal with Inter have meant that dealing with the sponsorship situation is increasingly a priority for the Nerazzurri for the rest of the season.

By far the preferred solution for the club would of course be to find a direct replacement for DigitalBits.

If a new company can be found who would agree a deal at anywhere near the terms of the deal with DigitalBits, worth roughly €80 million until 2025, then the Nerazzurri would immediately terminate their contract with the cryptocurrency company and enter into a new contract.

If a direct replacement cannot be found, it cannot be ruled out that Inter will head into the rest of the season without a main shirt sponsor.

Alternatively, instead of an unadorned shirt, the Nerazzurri could also consider a charitable name on the shirt, similar to the presence of UNICEF on Barcelona’s matchday shits in the past.

The fourth and final possibility is that it cannot be ruled out that Inter could stay on with DigitalBits for the rest of the season.

Whilst the insolvency issues faced by the company and the increasing volatility in the cryptocurrency sector would mean that it is extremely unlikely that they could pay the full amount contractually owed to the Nerazzurri, DigitalBits could still pay as much as they can.

In this even, the Nerazzurri could consider keeping the company’s logo on the front their shirt for the rest of the current season.
