Manchester United are serious about joining Chelsea in the race to sign Iter wingback Denzel Dumfries, and the Nerazzurri are hoping that a bidding war emerges.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are hoping that they can get a fee of around €60 million for the 26-year-old.

Chelsea have been keen on signing Dumfries, but they are not the only Premier League club with a real interest in his signature.

Man United coach Erik ten Hag is also an admirer, as he is very familiar with the former PSV wingback from his time coaching in the Eredivisie.

According to the Corriere, the United coach is keen to add a physical and attack-minded right-back, either to replace or compete with Diogo Dalot down the Red Devils’ right flank.

Given that Chelsea’s interest in signing Dumfries has hardly disappeared, the Nerazzurri could be hoping for the two teams’ bids to push up the asking price, as they seek a fee of around €60 million to sell him.
