Inter are the frontrunners to sign Hellas Verona defender Josh Doig, but are willing to wait until next summer in order to secure a more favourable deal.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of L’Arena, the Scottish defender has a growing list of admirers after impressing in his first season in Serie A, having joined Verona from Scottish Premiership club Hibernian at the start of the campaign.

It is suggested that whilst there are a number of clubs keen to land him, Inter have been the most active and have a plan in place to secure the 20-year-old.

With Verona set to demand at least €10 million to sell him in January, the Nerazzurri are ready to hold off until the summer and are optimistic that a deal can be struck for €8m then.

This would require Inter laying the groundwork for a transfer now with a view to the player moving at the end of the season.
