Inter have made defender Milan Skriniar the highest possible contract extension offer that they are able to, and are now waiting for the 27-year-old to give him their response.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported this afternoon via FCInterNews that the ball is now entirely in Skriniar’s court amid the continued interest of Paris Saint-Germain.

Inter had reportedly already made their contract offer very clear to Skriniar and his representatives some weeks ago.

The club have been awaiting the player’s response.

According to Di Marzio, Inter do not feel that they can go much higher from the offer that the Slovakian already has.

There is little question that any offer from PSG would be quite a bit higher than the deal that Inter are offering Skriniar.

Accordingly, the former Sampdoria defender will have to decide whether to stay for personal and sporting reasons, or choose PSG or another club for the next chapter in his career.

“Last summer they offered €50 million plus add-ons or one player of [Inter’s] choice,” Di Marzio said of PSG.

“I think they are still interested, especially if he leaves on a free transfer.”

Di Marzio noted that “It depends on the player, he’ll choose.”

“Inter have done their best, offering the him a salary at the top of their wage structure.”

“Skriniar will choose whether to stay at Inter based on his heart, or to leave for PSG where he could also have a better chance of winning the Champions League.”

“It’s is clear that the Nerazzurri will never be able to reach the kind of wages offered by the Parisians, so if he were to stay it would be because this is what he wants,” Di Marzio added.
