Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani feels that if Inter were to sell multiple players from the starting eleven the fan response would be one of major outrage.

Speaking to the YouTube channel of QSVS, via FCInter1908, Ravezzani predicted that if the Nerazzurri continue to pursue a course of self-financing with big name player sales, the relationship with the fans could become untenable.

Yesterday, a report emerged from the Gazzetta dello Sport that Inter could decide to let multiple top players go, replacing them with cheaper alternatives.

Apart from the ongoing contract situation of defender Milan Skriniar, the likes of Denzel Dumfries, Marcelo Brozovic,, Nicolo Barella, and Lautaro Martinez have been linked with possible sales.

Ravezzani feels that if there is any truth to these reports, then the already-strained relationship between the fans and owners Suning and President Steven Zhang would reach a new low.

“There are two things that we have to say clearly,” Ravezzani said, “the first is that it’s not true that Steven Zhang has an extraordinary vision for the team, that he wants the Scudetto and that he wants to relaunch Inter.”

“Steven Zhang needs either to sell Inter, probably not getting as much out of it as he’d want given the debt, or to try to go ahead with further loans,” he continued.

“This will force Inter to sell big players to repay the loans.”

“This is a dangerous game,” Ravezzani suggsted. “It’s true that the Zhang family has put a lot of money into Inter, but the successes that they’ve achieved have only been partial, a Scudetto, some early exits from Europe.”

“From Inter fans, there wouldn’t be a wind at the door, but a tsunami, if it’s true that three starters will be sold (Skriniar, Dumfries, and one of Lautaro, Barella, and Brozovic).”
