Midfielder Isco had looked on the verge of joining Inter from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, before Antonio Conte decided to stay on as Nerazzurri coach.
This was detailed by Italian broadcaster SportMediaset this afternoon, via FCInterNews, who note that the 30-year-old now looks to be very close to joining Inter’s Derby d’Italia rivals Juventus.
Isco left Real Madrid this summer to join Sevilla on a free transfer, but found himself in the cold with the Andalusians, ultimately leaving on a free transfers.
The Spaniard now looks to be close to joining the Bianconeri where he is a target for coach Max Allegri, but he could have come to Serie A two and a half years earlier.
As Mediaset note, Isco had been strongly linked with Inter in August of 2020 precisely because it had looked as though Allegri was set to take over at the Nerazzurri.
The current Juventus coach was tipped to replace Antonio Conte as coach, with the current Tottenham Hotspur and former Bianconeri, italy, and Chelsea coach on the verge of leaving.
However, in the end Conte stayed on as Inter coach, and given that Isco was a target for Allegri specifically and not particularly wanted by Conte as a signing, the Spaniard stayed at Real Madrid.
