Inter-owned midfielder Giovanni Fabbian has earned a place in football statistics company Opta’s best eleven for the first half of the Serie B season based on his performances on loan with Reggina.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who note that the 19-year-old is the top-scoring midfielder in the Italian second division after seventeen matches played, with five.

Fabbian joined Reggina on loan in the summer, and the Calabrians look to have been the right choice of a destination in which to spread his wings within the senior game.

The 19-year-old has been a key player for Filippo Inzaghi’s team as they target promotion to the top flight.

Fabbian has managed five goals from central midfield for Reggina so far this season, more than any other player in his position.

Meanwhile, Opta also noted that the 19-year-old midfielder is the youngest player to bag at least one goal and one assist in Serie B this campaign.
