Italian journalist Marcel Vulpis believes that Inter will either have to reach a new agreement with main shirt sponsor DigitalBits before the end of the year, or else definitively end their partnership.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, the football finance journalist gave his analysis on what the future could hold for the difficult situation between the Nerazzurri and DigitalBits.

By now, the situation that Inter find themselves in with DigitalBits is well-known.

The nonpayment of amounts owed contractually by the cryptocurrency company has put the Nerazzurri in a difficult spot.

Moreover, this has given Inter a decision to make regarding the future.

Inter could well decide to drop DigitalBits entirely, given the fact that much of the payments owed on the deal for this season have been entirely absent.

In this case, the Nerazzurri could drop the company’s logo for as soon as next Wednesday’s Serie A match against Napoli.

On the other, Vulpis explains, the club could also decide to restructure their agreement.

“Inter can take one of two paths,” he explained, “Either reach a new agreement by tomorrow (but time is running out very fast in this case), or else definitively end the partnership.”

“”In the first option, Digitalbits would go the rest of the season in the role of main sponsor, subsequently opting for the position of premium partner (estimated value of €1 million).”

“This would lead to the launch of a new digital asset for the Nerazzurri (as was envisaged, among other things, in the main sponsorship contract).”

“If they choose the second route, then the Nerazzurri will take to the pitch on January 4 without the company’s logo on the front of their shirts,” Vulpis added.
