Inter are becoming increasingly pessimistic that defender Milan Skriniar will sign a new contract with the club, following further delays.
According to Italian television broadcaster Sport Mediaset, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Nerazzurri are growing concerned that Skriniar is yet to commit his future to the club, particularly as he approaches the final six months of his existing deal.
Despite hoping to reach an agreement with the Slovakia international before the World Cup break in November, no deal has been signed and Inter have now set the defender a deadline of mid-January to make his decision.
A meeting has been scheduled for then and it is at that point that Inter expect a definitive answer from Skriniar, after proposing a contract worth €6 million per season some time ago.
The negotiations are described as being complicated and the passing time is making a successful outcome less likely, with French champions Paris Saint-Germain amongst the suitors ready to swoop for Skriniar on a free transfer in the summer.
