Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will not be fit enough to start in this week’s Serie A Clash with Napoli.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old will start on the bench, whilst the trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan should start the match.

Brozovic has been working in training to get fit enough to start against the Partenopei on Wednesday.

However, it has always been made clear that the Croat would only start if it is felt that there is absolutely no risk to his fitness in doing so.

Coach Simone Inzaghi has assessed Brozovic’s condition, and decided against starting him on Wednesday, as his thigh flexor is still considered to be a slight risk.

Accordingly, Calhanoglu should start at the base of midfield, whilst the likes of Barella and Mkhitaryan will flank him on either side of the midfield trio.
