Inter have made clear to defender Stefan de Vrij that they are keen to extend his contract, and have offered him a two-year deal.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri have made their offer, and that there is room for negotiations as early as during the January transfer market.

The timeframe for de Vrij’s contract to be extended is not as tight as that of Milan Skriniar, but Inter want to get it done in a timely manner.

The Nerazzurri do not want to lose the former Lazio and Feyenoord defender on a free transfer, and have made clear to him that they retain their faith in him and would like to keep him on past the end of the season.

Now, de Vrij has Inter’s offer on the table.

It will be left to the 30-year-old to consider the Nerazzurri’s two-year contract offer and gives his response to the club.

However, he is well aware that they are keen to keep him on.
