Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin believes that Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic will be out injured for at least ten days.
Speaking to the Twitch channel of Italian news outlet Calciomercato.it, via FCInter1908, the journalist explained that given the nature of the injury, precautions will have to be taken to make sure that the 30-year-old does not return too soon and risk a reinjury.
Yesterday Inter confirmed that Brozovic had suffered a calf injury, specifically a problem with the soleus muscle in his left leg.
Whilst the injury does not look to be an overly serious one, it is still one which will require a lot of care to avoid becoming more serious.
Accordingly, whilst reports have suggested that the Croat will not miss more than a couple of weeks with his recovery, this does not mean that he can be rushed back.
As Biasin explains, Brozovic and Inter will only allow a return when the sense is that there is no risk of reinjury.
“Knowing the area that’s injured for Brozovic, the calf, I know that that can be the worst injury for footballers,” he said.
“The risk is that they can come back, but without having fully healed, and then immediately become injured again,” he elaborated.
Biasi noted that “I could be wrong and I hope so very much, but my feeling is that he’ll be out for at the very least ten days.”
“I would have a hard time seeing him back in time for the Supercoppa Italiana against Milan,” he added.
