Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto is in pole position to replace Samir Handanovic at Inter if the captain decides to leave at the end of his contract next summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 33-year-old is ahead of Boca Juniors keeper Agustin Rossi to arrive as the backup to Andre Onana if Handanovic doesn’t extend his contract.
Handanovic’s current contract with Inter is set to expire at the end of June 2023.
The Slovenian is still considering whether or not he wants to extend his deal, but could very well leave at the end of the current season given that he has fallen behind Onana in the pecking order this season.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri are in search of a keeper who can back up Onana, with the Cameroonian now firmly first-choice.
Boca Juniors’ Rossi is on Inter’s radar, but Bournemouth’s Neto looks to be their main target.
