Inter strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez could be in line to link up together for tonight’s Serie A match against Monza.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the two forwards are being considered to start together at the U-Power Stadium as coach Simone Inzaghi decides on his starting line-up for the league fixture.

Lukaku started Wednesday’s 1-0 win over league leaders Napoli at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza alongside goalscorer Edin Dzeko, and the Belgium international was praised for his presence in giving Inter space to move the ball.

The Chelsea loanee has struggled for form and fitness this season but is expected to keep his place against Monza, and Martinez’s first start since winning the World Cup with Argentina last month offers Inter the chance to reforge their relationship from 2020-21.

Under former coach Antonio Conte, the two strikers fired Inter to the Serie A title and there is a hope that they can combine again to propel the Nerazzurri up the table.
