Legendary former Sampdoria, Juventus, Chelsea, and Italy striker Gianluca Vialli passed away yesterday of cancer at the age of 58.
The former striker had a great impact on the Italian game, which also extended past his playing days as he was part of the national team’s coaching staff as they won the EUROs in the summer of 2021.
Inter Defender Francesco Acerbi paid tribute to Vialli in a post on his official Instagram account.
He captioned the post, “You were like a teammate, you were just great.
“Thank you for the passion you were able to pass on to me, for the wisdom you conveyed to us , I’m thankful for having met you.”
“I could go on and on and remember you for all your qualities, but I’ll keep them in my hear because everyone knows the kind of man you were.”
“I’ll just leave it at this, we were European champions together.”
