Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is currently reflecting on a contract extension offer from Inter of a new two-year deal containing the option of a further season.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who report that the 30-year-old is giving consideration to the Nerazzurri’s offer which could potentially become a new three-year contract.

Inter have made clear to de Vrij and his representatives that they do not want to lose the former Lazio and Feyenoord defender on a free transfer when his current contract expires at the end of June.

Accordingly, the Dutchman has had Inter’s contract extension offer on the table for a little while.

The formal offer is for a new two-year contract which would also contain the option of a further season beyond this, into the end of the 2025-26 campaign.

As of yet, de Vrij has not given a response to Inter’s offer, and he continues to think about it before making his decision according to Sky.
