Inter are tracking the likes of Torino defender Perr Schuurs and Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini as possible signings in defense as they wait to see whether Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij will extend their contract.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have lined up Schuurs and Scalvini as possible targets in the event that they have to replace one of their first-choice central defenders.

Inter have made contract extension offers to both Skriniar and de Vrij, and keeping hold of both is the priority.

The former has been offered €6.5 million net per season to extend his deal, which the Nerazzurri have made clear is as high as they can go and an indication that he is considered central to their project.

Meanwhile, de Vrij has been offered a two-year deal worth €4 million net per season.

In both cases, Mediaset reports, the Nerazzurri are now just waiting to see whether the pair will accept the offers, but in the meantime Schuurs and Scalvini are being looked at as ideal prospective replacements.
