Inter are not planning to put any pressure on defender Milan Skriniar to respond to their contract extension offer before the Supercoppa Italiana match against AC Milan is played next week.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri have not given the 27-year-old any deadline or ultimatum for a response before January 18, although they do expect the response in a timely manner.

Inter fly to Saudi Arabia to face city rivals Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana in Riyadh on January 18, next Wednesday.

As far as the club are concerned, there is no deadline for Skriniar and his agent Roberto Sistici to give a response to the offer of a new contract that has now been on the table for some time by that point.

The offer has not changed since Inter first presented it to the Slovakian and his representatives, with the Nerazzurri putting forward around €6 million net per seasons plus add-ons.

According to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri directors have made sure to stress that there is no room for them to go higher with the offer, and that if the player rejects the new deal then they have done all that they can do in the situation.
