Inter and AC Milan would be open to increasing the capacity in a new stadium to around 70,000 at the request of the Milan City Council.

This according to Italian football finance news outlet Calcio e Finanza, who report that the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri would consider finding ways to accommodate the requested change of the City Council to increase the capacity in their plans.

The City Council has made a number of requests to Inter and Milan as conditions for approval of the new stadium plans, based on the recommendations that emerged during the public debate.

Chief among the requested changes is that the clubs increase the capacity of the stadium from around 65,000 to at least 70,000, in order to accommodate the demand for spectators.

The clubs are opposed to the possibility of introducing a third ring of seating to the plans for the new stadium, as this would be too disruptive to the existing plans and would add too much to the cost of the plans.

However, the possibility of adding more seating into the plans by having less space between some seats would be one possibility, and the clubs are looking at other means of adding additional seating into the plans.
