Inter will meet with the agent of striker Edin Dzeko some time in February to try and work out a contract extension.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri and Dzeko’s agent Alessandro Lucci have agreed to meet not long after the January transfer window has closed, with both parties hoping to agree a new deal.

Inter’s intention is to agree an extension with Dzeko past the end of the current season worth no more than €4 million net per season.

On the player’s side, the former Roma and Manchester City striker is hoping to stay on with the Nerazzurri.

The exact terms of a prospective new contract will have to be worked out, and it will remain to be seen if the club and the player’s representatives can come together on the wages and duration of a new deal.

However, the wait to find out should not be very long, as the intention is to hold an important meeting next month.
