Inter not only beat their city rivals AC Milan in yesterday evening’s Supercoppa Italiana clash, but they did so in a way that the Rossoneri should feel embarrassed about.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who argue that there was barely a competition in the Nerazzurri’s 3-0 win, and that Milan made it look too easy for their great derby rivals.

A lot of credit must certainly go to Inter for the quality of their performance against Milan.

However, the sense is that the Rossoneri’s listless display and a number of errors both defensively and in possession played right into the Nerazzurri’s hands.

Inevitably, one of the two derby rivals had to come out on top, and there would be no shame inherent in either of the two teams tasting defeat in a fixture that is always one of Italian football’s showpiece occasions.

However, the manner of the result did not reflect at all well on the Rossoneri, in the view of Tuttosport.
