Inter President Steven Zhang has won his fourth trophy in charge of the Nerazzurri with yesterday evening’s Supercoppa Italiana victory over AC Milan, and with it has gotten close to the club’s pantheon of all-time great Presidents.

This is the contention in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note that now the current President of the club is tied with Ivanoe Fraizzoli and Erenesto Pellegrini among the fourth most successful club Presidents in the Nerazzurri’s history in terms of trophies.

If Zhang hopes to catch the trinity of Angelo Morratti, Massimo Morratti, and Giacinto Facchetti in terms of Nerazzurri club Presiedents, then he will have a long way to go.

However, the facts now state that the current President has brought his tally to a total of four since taking charge of the Nerazzurri in 2016.

Zhang has managed to guide the team to silverware in each of the last three seasons, whilst the opportunity remains there for them to win more over the rest of the campaign, with three titles still to play for.

There is no disguising the fact that Zhang’s tenure at the helm of Inter has been characterized by financial restrictions in recent seasons, and that the team has been forced to reckon with an increasing need to respect financial balance as much as competitive ambition.

However, even so, the Nerazzurri have managed to reach yet another trophy under Zhang’s leadership, which the Gazzetta suggests is a testament to the fact that the young President deserves his place among the all-time greats for what he has accomplished even in adverse circumstances.
