Inter are close to extending the contract of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu, having already reached an agreement with wingback Matteo Darmian on a new deal.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air this evening via FCInter1908 that the Nerazzurri are closing in on a new deal for the 28-year-old, following negotiations with Darmian which are all but done.

Inter are looking to address some of the outstanding contract situations currently at the club.

Darmian has been reported to be on the verge of signing a new one-year contract until the end of June 2024, with the option of a further season, and Di Marzio confirms this.

Moreover, the Sky transfer market expert reports that Inter are close to wrapping up negotiations with Calhnaoglu.

The former AC Milan midfielder’s current contract with the Nerazzurri runs until the end of June 2024, but negotiations on an extension are progressing rapidly.

“Inter have wrapped up an important contract extension,” Di Marzio reported, ” that of Matteo Darmian.”

“He has been in talks with Nerazzurri directors on an extension for several weeks, and has in fact reached an agreement with Inter for a contract until the end of June 2024, with the option of an additional season.”

“The next renewal that the Nerazzurri will work on is that of Hakan Calhanoglu, who’s very close to signing a new deal.”
