Inter are in contact with Bundesliga side Stuttgart regarding a possible move for defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 25-year-old former Arsenal defender is in the Nerazzurri’s sights as a possible alternative to Atalanta’s Merih Demiral as a replacement for Skriniar should the Slovakian leave this month.

Inter’s search for a replacement for Skriniar is now in full swing, as they are not yet sure whether or not the 27-year-old will remain at the club past the end of the January transfer window.

Atalanta’s Demiral is a primary target to replace Skriniar, but the 24-year-old would be difficult to sign on a financial level.

Meanwhile, Lille have made clear that they do not plan to sell Tiago Djalo, another target to potentially replace Skriniar.

Inter are looking at Mavropanos as a posssbility, and have inquired about the possibility of signing the Greek international on an initial loan deal containing a purchase option.
