Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto is Inter’s preferred target to replace Samir Handanovic as backup goalkeeper for next season should the captain leave.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the former Fiorentina, Juventus, Valencia, and Barcelona man is the main name on the Nerazzurri’s list with Handanovic’s departure looking more probable.
This season, Handanovic has dropped behind summer arrival Andre Onana in the pecking order for the starting goalkeeping position at Inter.
There is a very real chance that the Slovenian will not extend his contract which expires at the end of June.
Accordingly, Inter will likely be targeting a goalkeeper to take the place of the captain.
There are also some names lined up as possible contingencies if Onana were to be sold, but these would be younger and more ambitious pieces of business to secure the first-choice spot.
For a replacement to Handanovic, Bournemouth keeper Neto is considered the ideal to reliably deputize for the Cameroonian.
