Bari defender Francesco Vicari feels that Inter-owned striker Sebastiano Esposito has grown a lot compared to when he worked with the player at SPAL.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TeleBari, via FCInterNews, the coach noted that he has always considered Esposito to be a very high-level player, and that he has seen more from the 20-year-old compared to when they had worked together in Emilia-Romagna.

Vicari and Esposito have worked together once in the past, with the Inter striker having spent the first half of the 2020-21 season on loan at SPAL in Serie B.

The Nerazzurri striker has had a bit of a winding path ever since, with ups and downs in loan spells with the likes of Venezia, Basel, and Anderlecht.

During the January transfer window, Esposito joined Bari on loan, where he is hoping that he can really show off what he is capable of.

For his part, the player’s coach at the Puglian side believes that growth is evident.

“We worked together for six months in Ferrara, and obviously he was a lot younger then,” Vicari explained.

“I’ve seen him grow a lot, both physically and mentally.”

“In terms of his quality, though,’ he’s always been an excellent player,” Vicari said of Esposito.

“I expected him to give us a big help, and he’s been doing just that,” the coach concluded.
