Inter wingback Matteo Darmian insists that the Nerazzurri are well prepared for a tough encounter when they visit Bologna in Serie A this afternoon.

The Nerazzurri travel to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in the early kick-off, as they seek to bolster their claim for second place in the table with a fourth league win in five games.

In an interview with the club’s inhouse television channel, Inter TV, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Darmian claimed that the Nerazzurri would be ready to build on Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Porto in the Champions League and overcome Bologna.

“It’s a very difficult game, we know Bologna’s qualities, we have to play a careful game and try to bring home three points,” the 33-year old declared.

Darmian is set to slot into the back three of the defence in the absence of the injured Milan Skriniar, instead of usual role at right wingback, but was adamant that he was happy to play wherever coach Simone Inzaghi required him.

“Honestly, there’s no role that I prefer. I always try to do my best when called upon, and when it happens I try to give my contribution to the team.

“As a team we are fine, these evenings (against Porto) must give us confidence, drive and positive energy,” he concluded.

The former Manchester United and Torino defender has made 95 appearances for Inter since joining from Parma in 2020.
