Inter Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello has made clear that there is an alternative plan in place for the new stadium should AC Milan decisively abandon plans for the two clubs to build together in place of San Siro.

Speaking outside the ECA meeting in Milan, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri executive updated on the new stadium situation, and also made clear that relations remain good with Paris Saint-Germain despite some tension that had arose in relation to the situation of defender Milan Skriniar.

The new stadium in Milan has become a very hot topic in recent days.

Where until recently it had seemed as though both Inter and Milan were looking at building a new stadium in place of the San Siro as their first choice with other options as just backup options, now it looks as though the Rossoneri have made a change of course according to reports.

Speaking about the situation, Antonello stated that “I remain confident in Plan A, in other words building at San Siro together with Milan.”

“After three and a half years of intense work, especially after getting the general approval of the City Council, a lot more thought would be needed to give up on a project like this,” he continued.

“We’re now waiting for the conclusions Milan’s analysis regarding the La Maura possibility, but it seems to me as though Snaitech has clarified the situation in the area,” Antonello noted, referring to denials by the Hippodrome area’s current owners that the area could be sold.

“Having said that, Inter have clarity on what our next steps would be whatever the case may be, whether Milan decide to stay at San Siro whether they decide to move plans elsewhere.”

“We have a Plan B in place which is there to protect the interests of the club and, above all, the fans,” Antonello made clear.

And when asked about whether tensions have been resolved between Inter and PSG, the Inter Corporate CEO responded “Absolutely, yes.”

“Yesterday the President [Steven Zhang] attended a pleasant dinner [with PSG counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi],” he went on.

“Transfer business was also discussed in a totally cordial manner,” the executive continued.

Antonello ade clear that “All the disputes between clubs from last summer have already been resolved.”
