Bologna Midfielder Roberto Soriano: “We Suffered Vs Inter Milan But We Gutted it Out”

Bologna midfielder Roberto Soriano feels that his team were forced to dig deep in order to get their win over Inter last weekend.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia ahead of his team’s Serie A match against Torino, via FCInterNews, the 32-year-old looked back on the Rossoblu’s impressive 1-0 victory over the Nerazzurri in Serie A.

Bologna needed to be at their best in order to keep Inter quiet, with the Emilian team working hard on and off the ball to negate the individual quality of the Nerazzurri’s players.

It was a shock result that led to much praise for the Bologna players’ effort and discipline, as well as of the effective approach devised by coach Thiago Motta.

From the perspective of midfielder Soriano, last Sunday’s win was a testament to the gutsiness and intensity shown by he and his teammates against a tough opponent.

“We had to suffer but we gutted it out,” he said of the match.

“There were moments where we played well with the ball, we all moved as a unit and created chances,” he continued.

Soriano noted that “It was more confirmation of our quality in a tough match, but one that we wanted to win.”
