The availability of Inter defender Milan Skriniar will be in doubt for the Nerazzurri’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg against Porto is in doubt due to a persistent back problem that the player continues to suffer from.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Slovakian is in doubt not only for Friday’s match against Spezia, but also for next week’s trip to Portugal.

Skriniar has already missed out on two of Inter’s league matches, as the 28-year-old’s back injury saw him left out of the squads for Serie A matches against Bologna and Lecce.

Reports have suggested that it is less and less likely that the former Sampdoria defender will not be ready to return in time for Inter’s away match against Spezia later this week, but this may not be all.

According to the Gazzetta, the back injury that Skriniar has been dealing with has lingered, and could very well rule him out of next Tuesday’s match against Porto as well.
