Legendary former Inter attacking midfielder Luis Suarez feels that the one-goal advantage that Inter take to the Estadio do Dragao this evening against Porto could prove to be a crucial advantage.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, Suarez suggested that the scoreline at the beginning of the match could prove key in setting the tone of the match tactically.

Inter will be well aware that they only have a very slender lead to protect from the first leg of their round of sixteen tie against Porto.

Accordingly, the approach that they take will require a delicate balance to not become complacent, but at the same time not take more risks than they need to.

On Porto’s end, as well, there will be a balance to get right, but for the Portuguese team, the need to take risks from the first minute should be greater than it is for the Nerazzurri.

In the view of legendary former Inter player Suarez, this could prove to be a key advantage fort his old team.

“The one-goal advantage from the first leg can be decisive, because it means that Porto will have to leave some space in behind, and Inter can exploit that,” he noted.
