The agency representing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie has denied in no uncertain terms the transfer links between the midfielder and Inter.

Kessie’s agency Ambition Sports Group posted on their Instagram account to respond to a report in Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport regarding the possibility of the Ivorian joining the Nerazzurri, branding their report “fake news.”

Kessie has been linked with Inter since the January transfer window in the Italian and Spanish press, particularly with regards to a possible swap deal involving Nerazzurri midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

No such transfer materialized in January, however, although this has not stopped the transfer rumours from emerging regarding a possible summer move for the 26-year-old former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder.

However, for their part the player’s agency have very clearly denied that there is any substance to the links with the Nerazzurri.

They posted, “Although the agent has denied a possible transfer of Kessie, despite the Barcelona management has denied a possible transfer of Kessie and, among other things, affirming his importance in the team, despite the fact that Kessie himself has recently released an interview where he says his desire to play in Barcelona for a long time, certain fake and ridiculous news is starting to get annoying. So we want to be very clear about that. The possibility that Kessie may leave Barcelona in the next transfer market is the same as hoping that a Snake may suddenly have legs next summer.
It’s the world upside down..! Kessie plays, plays wonderfully well, scores goals, enters Barca history by signing goal No. 3000 and someone finds the courage to divulge delusional information. To our dear spreader of false information @corrieredellosport … we have decided to distrust you.”
