Inter striker Edin Dzeko will not be in the starting eleven for the Bosnian national team as they take on Iceland in a EURO 2024 qualifying match this evening.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the 37-year-old will get a rest as he is in his national team’s squad but only on the bench for the start of this evening’s match.

Despite the fact that Dzeko is captain of the Bosnia and Herzgovina national team as well as the country’s all-time leading appearance make and top scorer, the Inter striker will not start this evening’s match against Iceland.

The country are aiming to qualify for their first EUROS ever, having not made an appearance in the competition in any previous editions, although they did reach the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

Dzeko will not play from the start this evening, however, although the Nerazzurri striker could have a role to play as a substitute.
