Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio believes that Chelsea and Manchester United do not currently consider Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries to be a major target.

Speaking to Dutch news outlet Soccernew.nl, Di Marzio updated that whilst Chelsea had at one point contacted the 26-year-old’s representatives, he is not currently on the radar of any big Premier League clubs.

Dumfries has been linked with an exit from Inter for some time, with reports having suggested that the former PSV man is the player who the Nerazzurri will look to cash in on in the summer in order to meet financial targets.

However, this could become more difficult based on the Dutchman’s recent form.

As Di Marzio understands it, some of the clubs who have been linked with Dumfries in the past are now looking at his performances for Inter over the past few weeks and months, and have cooled their interest based on what they’ve seen.

“I don’t know if he’ll go to Manchester United or Chelsea, because his recent performances have been very disappointing,” the Sky transfer market expert explained.

“These clubs are now having doubts about whether they’d want to make an offer for him,” he went on.

According to Di Marzio, during the January transfer window, “No Premier League club, or top club in general, expressed an interest in signing him to Inter.”

“At one point Chelsea contacted his agent and I wouldn’t be surprised if his name is still on their list, but he’s not a concrete target at all,” he added of Dumfries.
