Inter striker Romelu Lukaku’s eye-catching exploits in front of goal during the international will not have gone unnoticed by his club.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who argue that the 29-year-old’s four-goal haul for the Belgian national team were a clear message to the Nerazzurri to think long and hard before letting him go in the summer.

It is far from clear that Inter will decide to extend Lukaku’s loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

There is no denying that the Belgian’s form over the course of the season has been nowhere near what was expected from him, particularly given how injuries have restricted his impact.

However, Lukaku gave a clear demonstration of what he is capable of during the break, putting three goals past Sweden and then scoring in yesterday’s win over Germany.

Inter will therefore know that, regardless of the form he has had in a Nerazzurri shirt over the season thus far, he is still capable of a lot more.
