Inter have lost three consecutive matches in the Serie A after awful finishing once again following a 0-1 defeat to Fiorentina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan’s San Siro district, leading to low ratings for everyone in SempreInter.com’s Inter Milan player ratings.
The Nerazzurri started the match fairly well, creating quite a few chances but whether it was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku or Robin Gosens they simply couldn’t put ball in back of the net.
Fiorentina created a couple of high quality chances but André Onana pulled off some great saves to deny Vincenzo Italiano’s men.
In the second half, the Nerazzurri continued as they left off creating even better chances, but after Romelu Lukaku missed an absolute sitter from about a yard out with the entire net gaping, it was clear where this was heading.
And that’s exactly what happened when just a few moments later former AC Milan player Giacomo Bonaventura headed home the only goal of the game after some poor defending.
Inter created more chances, with Nicolo Barella hitting the post and Raoul Bellanova’s shot being saved by Terracciano from close range.
However, Inter simply couldn’t score and so lost the game, recording their 10th defeat in the Serie A this season.
Inter Milan Player Ratings Vs Fiorentina
André Onana – 5,5: Did well to distribute the ball but had a few shaky moments retaining the ball on saves. Could have done better on the goal.
Matteo Darmian – 6 (MOTM): Decent, reliable performance on a bad night for the squad. Did his job and did it well, contributing both defensively and offensively.
Francesco Acerbi – 5: Caught out several times and lost too many of his duels. Got lucky Fiorentina attackers couldn’t always finish their chances.
Alessandro Bastoni – 4,5: After reportedly asking 7M net to renew his contract, dropped a stinker. Poor marking when the goal was conceded.
Denzel Dumfries – 4: Created some chances in the first half but failed to capitalize on the amount of open space with a high defensive line. Poor again.
Nicolo Barella – 5: Had an awful first half and looked a shadow of himself. Did slightly better in the second half and hit the post off a nice shot.
Marcelo Brozovic – 5,5: Looked more like himself compared to what we have seen recently. Did well to retain the ball and maintain possession in midfield.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 5: Missed an incredible chance early in the match. Bad decision-making was a theme throughout the match today and looked sluggish.
Robin Gosens – 5: Did well but failed to make a mark or any type of impact on the match. Was not great offensively but contributed more defensively.
Joaquin Correa – 3: Forget about giving him any more chances, he does not deserve them. Ran around today doing nothing, like a headless chicken.
Romelu Lukaku – 3,5: Had way too many chances squandered and missed an absolute sitter – miss of the season easily. Another night to forget for him.
Substitutes:
Stefan de Vrij – 5: Replaced Alessandro Bastoni in the 63′ minute and provided defensive solitude when Inter wanted a goal. Decent cameo.
Raoul Bellanova – 5,5: Brought on in the 63′ for Robin Gosens and did very well, all things considered. Made good tackles and took on his man several times.
Lautaro Martinez – 5: Substituted on for Joaquin Correa in the 63′ minute and made next to no impact on the match. Poor showing yet again.
Edin Dzeko N/A – : Entered in the 78′ minute for Marcelo Brozovic. Did not play enough to be able to be rated.
Kristjan Asllani – N/A: Came on in the 78′ minute for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Did not play enough to be able to be rated.
Manager
Simone Inzaghi – 4: Questionable lineup and even more questionable changes. Same tactics every week, nothing is changing. Tiring to watch.
Referee
Fabio Maresca – 6: Not many major calls to be made, and did well enough for all the minor calls throughout the match. Nothing to complain about.
Team Performance
Inter – 3: Yet another pathetic performance. Chances wasted, poor defense, third straight Serie A loss and 10th Serie A loss this season. Awful.
