Inter wingback Federico Dimarco will be called up for tomorrow evening’s Coppa Italia semifinal first leg match against Juventus.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old will be fit enough for tomorrow evening’s match after returning to full training today.

Dimarco started the last time that Inter and Juventus met, in a 1-0 Bianconeri win at the San Siro in the league just before the international break.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi had little option but to start Dimarco given that an injury kept Robin Gosens out of the squad for that match, leaving Dimarco as the only specialist left-wingback available in the squad.

However, the 25-year-old was only able to last until midway through the second half of that match, as an abdominal problem forced him off as a substitute.

Danilo D’Ambrosio replaced Dimarco, with the versatile 34-year-old filling in as an emergency left-wingback, although he would be sent off late in the match following a physical confrontation with Juventus midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Dimarco, who had been called up for international duty by Italian national team boss Roberto Mancini, had to pull out of the Azzurri’s two EURO 2024 qualifiers during the break against England and Malta due to his injury.

The 25-year-old stayed behind in Milan, working on his recovery in view of Inter’s packed schedule during the month of April.

Dimarco had been fairly close to being able to make his return against Fiorentina during the weekend, but wasn’t risked in that match as he was not deemed to be fully fit to return to action without risking a reinjury.

However, the 25-year-old looks to have made a sufficient recovery to be available against Juventus tomorrow.

Sky report that Dimarco completed a full training session with the rest of the squad as normal today and that there were no problems, so he will be in the squad to face the Bianconeri.
