Everton are keen to sign out-of-favour Inter forward Joaquin Correa this summer.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that a move away from the Giuseppe Meazza is likely for the 28-year-old, and that the Toffees would be the likeliest club to snap him up ahead of Sevilla and West Ham United.
What looks more and more clear is that former Lazio and Sampdoria forward Correa will leave Inter this summer.
Having joined the Nerazzurri from Lazio in the summer of 2021, following coach Simone Inzaghi from the Stadio Olimpico, the Argentine has never really made the expected impact.
It has been reported that the inconsistent form and lack of fitness shown by the former Biancocelesti man have convinced the Nerazzurri to offload him in the summer transfer window, as they feel that the player’s time is up.
There have even been reports that Inter could be forced to loan Correa out ahead of next season, as they would be limited in their ability to get a fee for a player who’s been out of form for much of the past couple seasons.
In any event, FCIN reports, it is certainly the case that Correa will likely leave Inter at the end of this season, and there is also a probable destination.
The 28-year-old has been tentatively linked with one of his former clubs in the form of Sevilla, but according to FCIN the La Liga side are not strongly interested in bringing him back.
Meanwhile, West Ham had been keen at one point, but their interest has not looked to have reemerged.
Rather, it is the Hammers’ Premier League rivals Everton who are ready to make the move for Correa, according to FCIN.
The Merseyside team had been very keen on signing Correa in the summer of 2021 from Lazio before he made the switch to Inter.
It had been reported at the time that the Argentine turned the Toffees down, on the basis that he was prioritizing a move to the Nerazzurri and wouldn’t consider other offers.
However, with Correa’s time at Inter now very evidently up, Everton will have another chance at signing the 28-year-old.
According to FCIN, the Premier League side are keen to add an attacking reinforcement in the summer, specifically in the second striker position, and in this sense they would still see Correa as a major target.
