Barcelona have asked about the availability of Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries during the summer transfer window, whilst the Nerazzurri are considering asking for forward Ferran Torres.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the pair’s names came up in talks between the two clubs yesterday, whilst Inter have also had their interest in defender Ronald Araujo rebuffed.
Yesterday Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio met with his Barcelona counterpart Mateu Alemany in Barcelona, with FCIN reporting the agent Edoardo Crnjar was present as an intermediary.
As part of the talks, FCIN report that one of the main topics of discussion involved Alemany asking for information about Dumfries.
The Blaugranas are looking to bring in a right-sided fullback or wingback during the summer transfer window, and according to FCIN they consider the 26-year-old former PSV international to be a potential option to be looked at.
Meanwhile, FCIN also report that the Nerazzurri would potentially be interested in signing 23-year-old Spanish international Torres.
The 23-year-old former Valencia forward joined the Blaugranas during the January transfer window of 2022, although they could already be looking to offload him in order to finance a move to bring Lionel Messi back to the Camp Nou from Paris Saint-Germain during the summer.
These two were not the only names to come up during the talks, however.
According to FCIN, Inter Sporting Director Ausilio asked about the availability of 24-year-old Uruguayan international defender Araujo, although it was made clear to him that the Blaugranas would have no intention of letting the player go.
Araujo is considered a vital pillar in the backline within the plans of Barcelona coach Xavi.
In addition, FCIN report that veteran Spanish international wingback Jordi Alba was brought up during the discussion, but that Ausilio made clear that Inter are not interested given the player’s age and wages.
