Both current Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani and Bahrain-based investment fund InvestCorp have their own respective strategies to try and get a deal done to buy Inter from current owners Suning.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who detail the differing approaches of the pair, also noting that there is still some way to go before either would be able to present an offer to the current Nerazzurri owners.

Whilst the persistent rumours that Suning could sell Inter have never really gone away, it would be fair to say that in recent weeks they have become louder.

The fact that the massive loan that the owners took on from Oaktree Capital in 2021 comes due in just over one year’s time could well be the thing that finally pushes Suning to sell the Nerazzurri should they feel that they have no other option.

Concurrently to this, Bahrain-based investment fund InvestCorp were reported last week by Il Sole 24 Ore to be rekindling their interest in purchasing the club.

Economy Middle East reported that the Bahrain-based fund are looking to raise between $545 million and $654 million in funds from investors in order to form a consortium capable of presenting an offer that Suning would accept.

Tuttosport confirm this, noting that getting the right interest from potential investors would be key to InvestCorp’s strategy to taking over the Nerazzurri from Suning.

As of yet, however, the newspaper reports that the fund has yet to gather enough investor interest to really take the next step.

Meanwhile, it was reported yesterday by Bloomberg that current Leeds owner Radrizzani is keen to put in an offer to purchase the Nerazzurri from Suning.

In the case of the 48-year-old Milan-born businessman, however, the key factor would be his selling his current shares in Premier League club Leeds.

There is much uncertainty surrounding the future of the West Yorkshire-based team, who currently have a real scrap for Premier League survival on their hands.

Much regarding Radrizzani’s interest in the Nerazzurri could depend on the immediate future of whether Leeds stay in the English top flight or not.
