Inter Milan have beaten Juventus 1-0 in the Coppa Italia semifinal return leg after a masterful performance by Nicolo Barella, which is reflected in the SempreInter.com Inter Milan player ratings.

The Nerazzurri started the game really well, imposing themselves on Juventus creating a very good chance which Lautaro Martinez inexplicably missed.

In the 15th minute, Inter took the lead after some great movement where Nicolo Barella found Federico Dimarco who passed the ball into the back of the net.

In the second half, Juventus switched to a 4-3-3 and took over proceedings without really creating anything of importance.

The few times the ball found its way to the Nerazzurri goal, André Onana was there to scoop up the ball safely. In attack Inter were as wasteful as they were in the first half so the game ended 1-0 to the home side.

Defending champions Inter Milan have reached the final of the Coppa Italia for the second consecutive year where they will face either Fiorentina or Cremonese on May 24th in Rome’s Stadio Olimpico.

Inter Milan Player Ratings Vs Juventus

Matteo Darmian – 6,5: Classic Mr. Reliable performance today. Made strong tackles, as well as several important recoveries and interceptions.

Francesco Acerbi – 7: The Italian veteran was rock solid in the middle of the back three tonight. Shut down all potential attacks, let nothing past him.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Was solid in defence but had trouble putting in quality crosses, something Inter fans are very used to. Decent performance.

Denzel Dumfries – 6: Should have had an assist tonight, used his physicality and strength to burst up and down the right flank. Had many good crosses.

Nicolo Barella – 7,5 (MOTM): A world-class assist showing his incredible vision to spot Dimarco in the opposing box. Was everywhere in the midfield tonight.

Hakan Calhanoglu – 6,5: Had an immense defensive performance, but was not up to par offensively as much. Poor crossing, but amazing tackles.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 7: Created several counter-attacking chances for his team by bursting through the middle of the park. Made great runs today.

Federico Dimarco – 7,5: A big goal in the first-half to secure the win for the Nerazzurri. Got into great positions, but fatigue showed at the end.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: Did not have much offensive impact today. Did well to drop deep and carry the ball forward, but couldn’t make anything come of it.

Edin Dzeko – 5: No reason for him to start over Lukaku tonight and it showed. Ran around the pitch, got his cardio in, and got a free ride to the final.

Substitutes

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Replaced Nicolo Barella in the 68′ minute. Was brought on to provide defensive solidarity and did exactly that. Good cameo.

Joaquin Correa – 6: Entered in the 78′ minute for Lautaro Martinez. Did not have much of a chance, but made an effort and showed fight.

Robin Gosens – 5: Substituted on in the 78′ minute for Federico Dimarco. Failed to register an accurate cross after 3 chances, should have done better.

Manager

Simone Inzaghi – 7: Aside from starting Dzeko over Lukaku, got his XI spot on and got his tactics spot on throughout the match. Did well over 2 legs.

Daniele Doveri – 6: Did well throughout the entire match for both sides. No major decisions to call and got minor decisions right for the most part.

Team Performance

Inter – 7: Outplayed their opponent physically and tactically. Deservedly headed to the final now. A completely different team in Cups.
