Inter Milan defeated Lazio 3-1 on Match Day 32 of the 2022/2023 Serie A season after an excellent attacking display, where Romelu Lukaku was the Man Of The Match despite not scoring which is reflected in the SempreInter.com Inter Milan player ratings.

The Nerazzurri started the game very well, controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the game in midfield and were unlucky not to lead by at least a goal after Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s opener was disallowed due to Joaquin Correa running offside.

Therefore, it felt incredibly frustrating when moments later Francesco Acerbi made a shocking error from which Lazio’s Felipe Anderson capitalized to break the deadlock in the 30th minute, a scoreline carried over into the second half.

In the second half, Inter continued to press on creating many chances but failing to score, a very familiar storyline for the Nerazzurri this season.

However substitute Lautaro Martinez equalized in the 77th minute after linking up with Romelu Lukaku for the kind of goal we have seen many a time from the pair.

Then some 5 minutes later the Chelsea owned striker crossed the ball perfectly for Robin Gosens who sacrficed himself to give Inter the lead, injuring himself and coming off in the process.

Then in the 90’th minute Lautaro Martinez scored his second and Inter’s third to win the three points and cut the deficit to Lazio in the Serie A table to four points, going level on points with Roma and AC Milan.

The race for the top 4 is very much on now, and Inter play essentially a cup final every time they step out on the pitch from now until the end of the season.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6: Did well to defend against a quick, tricky attack and held his own. Brought off at half due to a caution and tactic-change.

Francesco Acerbi – 4: A bad day at the office against his parent club. Gifted Lazio their only goal and was close to giving away other goals.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6: Decent defensive performance but had some moments of poor decision-making and dumb fouls. Had difficulty crossing as well.

Matteo Darmian – 6: Started the match at RWB and then moved to RCB for the second half, where he clearly did much better. Mr. Reliable.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 6,5: Had a goal disallowed for offside unluckily in the first half and another close shot moments later. A good showing today.
