The latest stats reveal that Inter Milan have the best expected goals (xG) ratio in Serie A since the turn of the new year.

Ahead of Wednesday’s away league fixture against Hellas Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium, Inter’s official website has provided us with the most interesting stats and facts related to the match and the team in general.

As the source reveals, the Nerazzurri have the best xG stat among all Serie A clubs in 2023. They registered 32.2 expected goals since the turn of the year.

This figure is a testament to the club’s creativity and ability to produce chances in the final third, even if the execution left much to be desired at times.

On some occasions, Simone Inzaghi’s men dominated games from start to finish, but failed to deliver in front of goal. This includes April’s defeat at the hands of Monza and the 1-1 draw against Salernitana.

On another note, Inter have scored 17 goals this season in the first 30 minutes, more than any other Serie A club.

For his part, Inzaghi will celebrate his 100th appearance as Inter manager in Wednesday’s encounter against Hellas Verona.

The 47-year-old will become the 11th Inter coach to reach this milestone since Serie A became a Round-Robin tournament in 1929/30.

The source also reveals that Inter striker Edin Dzeko had made his Serie A debut in 2015 against Verona while representing Roma. The Bosnian scored a total of four goals against the Gialloblu during his time in Italian football.

Finally, Nicolo Barella bagged his first goal in the Nerazzurri colors against Verona, securing a 2-0 win in November 2019.
