AC Milan forward Rafael Leao reassures the fans amidst growing fears over his availability for the major clash against Inter Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semifinal.

The Rossoneri were dealt a major blow when the Portuguese left the pitch injured in the first minutes of Saturday’s Serie A encounter against Lazio.

Milan fans have been sweating over their star’s condition ever since, but the man himself is promising a swift recovery.

“I’m not worried,” said the 23-year-old while chatting on The Residency app via FcInterNews.

“I’ll be back soon, I’m optimistic. I had treatments and slept all day.”

But despite the player’s honeyed words, the source believes that Leao is likely to miss out on Wednesday’s first-leg clash against Inter.

As we reported earlier today, the Portuguese skipped Monday’s training session as he underwent therapy to speed up his recovery.

Nevertheless, Tuesday will be a decisive day on this front, and it remains to be seen if the former Lille man would be fit enough to take part in his team’s final preparations for the upcoming EuroDerby.

If Leao were to miss out on the first leg, he’ll most likely be available for the return fixture on May 16.

The Portuguese star remains Milan’s most decisive player, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions this season.
