Strikers Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez have been hailed as Inter Milan’s two standout performers in their win against Sassuolo.

Today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, give the pair the highest scores of anyone on the pitch in the player ratings for the 4-2 Nerazzurri win in Serie A.

Romelu Lukaku The Hero For Inter Milan Against Sassuolo

Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez had a decisive impact on Inter Milan’s win over Sassuolo.

The Belgian scored the Nerazzurri’s opener towards the end of the first half. Then, he scored the team’s fourth goal late in the match to calm Inter nerves after Sassuolo had scored twice to make the scoreline 3-2.

For the Gazzetta, there was little question of who the man of the match was.

The Milan-based newspaper are in agreement with SempreInter – Lukaku’s display was the Belgian at his very best. The newspaper award Lukaku a 7.5/10 grade for his performance.

Lautaro Martinez Also Heralded For Impact From Bench

Lukaku was not the only Inter striker who the Gazzetta praised for their performance against Sassuolo. Argentine World Cup winner Lautaro Martinez was also given a 7/10 score for his efforts.

The 25-year-old came on for his compatriot Joaquin Correa at halftime. And despite not starting the match, Martinez more than had his say.

The striker injected some energy into the Nerazzurri’s attack in the second half with his running and dribbling as well as scoring Inter’s third goal of the match.

The striker’s effort took a big deflection off of Neroverdi defender Luan Tressoldi to bamboozle keeper Andrea Consigli.

In conclusion, the Gazzetta judge Lautaro Martinez’s impact to have been very positive.

One Inter Player Not Up To Par

Whilst the Gazzetta largely evaluate the Inter players’ performances positively, one player came in for real criticism.

Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini got a 5/10 rating for his contribution.

The 29-year-old started the match as part of a heavily-rotated midfield trio.

However, the match largely passed Gagliardini by, as his contribution in both phases of play was minimal and he misplaced some easy passes.
