Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has made his last appearance for Inter Milan at the San Siro after his sending-off against Napoli.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who note that the 29-year-old’s one-match suspension for being red carded in this evening’s 1-3 loss to the Partenopei will rule him out of the Nerazzurri’s final home match of his final season at the club, against Atalanta.

Gagliardini is set to leave Inter this summer.

The former Atalanta man’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs out at the end of next month, and he will not sign an extension.

It is uncertain where Gagliardini will go. However, what looks very clear is that the 29-year-old and Inter will part ways.

UCL Derby Final Home Match For Roberto Gagliardini At San Siro

Gagliardini had come on as a late substitute in the Champions League against AC Milan last Tuesday.

This is to prove to be the midfielder’s final match for the Nerazzurri at the San Siro.

Gagliardini started this evening’s loss to Napoli. The 29-year-old got sent off for two first-half yellow cards, leaving his team to play more than half the match with ten men.

This was certainly a factor in the Nerazzurri slumping to defeat to this season’s champions.

As far as what this means for Gagliardini, the midfielder will serve a one-match suspension in Serie A for his sending-off.

This rules the former Atalanta midfielder out of next Saturday’s league match against his old club. That is Inter’s final match at the San Siro this season.

Gagliardini will be available for all of the Coppa Italia final against Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico, the final Serie A match of the season away to Torino in Turin, and the Champions League final against Manchester City at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

However, there will be no more opportunities for the 29-year-old at the San Siro this season.

Gagliardini To Depart Inter Milan After Six & A Half Years

Gagliardini joined Inter from Atalanta during January of 2017.

He spent the second half of the 2016-17 season with the Nerazzurri, and then six subsequent seasons.

The midfielder has played under all of Stefano Pioli, Luciano Spalletti, Antonio Conte, and Simone Inzaghi.

Gagliardini has made 187 appearances for Inter in all competitions, and 155 in Serie A. The midfielder has scored sixteen goals for the Nerazzurri.

Gagliardini has won all of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and two Supercoppa Italiana titles with the Nerazzurri. He could yet win another Coppa Italiana and the Champions League in his final season at the club.
