Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is hoping to see Romelu Lukaku win the Champions League with Inter Milan this season.

Speaking to Prime Video, via FCInterNews, the 31-year-old expressed support for his Belgian teammate in the Champions League final, where the Nerazzurri will meet Manchester City.

As with the entire Inter team, Lukaku has a huge opportunity in the upcoming Champions League final.

The 30-year-old has had a tough season. Injuries have restricted his impact, and at times even when he’s been fit enough to play, Lukaku has looked some way from his best.

However, in recent weeks, the Belgian has started to get back to scoring goals and leading the line like his old self.

Lukaku played a vital role with his goal against Porto in the Champions League round of sixteen. The 30-year-old could yet have his say in the final of Europe’s top club competition.

For his part, Courtois is hoping to see his international teammate do it.

The Red Devils and former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid got his hands on the trophy last season. Courtois was outstanding and a key part of why Real Madrid lifted the trophy.

Now, he is hoping that Lukaku is able to experience the things, and feels that there is no one who would be more deserving.

Real Madrid Star Courtois: Lukaku A Friend, Hope He & Inter Win UCL Final

Lukaku won’t be the only Belgian with a chance to win the Champions League next month in Istanbul.

City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne will also be very keen to finally get his hands on a crown which has remained elusive for him.

However, between the two fellow Belgians, Courtois is giving his support to the Inter striker.

“I hope Romelu can win it,” the Real Madrid keeper said.

“Obviously it’s him against Kevin, but I’ve known Romelu for a bit longer,” he added.

“I have a lot of respect for him.”
