Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez feels that he is hitting the best form of his entire career.

Speaking to InterTV after scoring a match-winning brace against Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, via FCInterNews, the 25-year-old spoke about the period that he’s found himself in over the past few months.

Martinez seems to have grown season upon season since joining Inter in 2018.

The Argentine is now the team’s leader in more ways than one. In recent months, Martinez has frequently worn the captain’s armband, including against Fiorentina yesterday evening.

That’s not all, however. Martinez has also become a player who leads by example.

The 25-year-old’s intensity and workrate set the tone in all phases of play, which was certainly the case against La Viola yesterday evening.

And then there are Martinez’s goals.

The Argentine has enjoyed another prolific goalscoring season. Moreover, as his first-half brace against Fiorentina illustrates perfectly, he is developing a real penchant for goals on the most important stages.

Now, the Nerazzurri will be hoping that this is once against shown against Manchester City in the Champions League final next month.

The two goals that Martinez scored yesterday evening were his 100th and 101st in Nerazzurri colours.

“Reaching 101 goals in this shirt is incredible,” the Argentine said.

“I’m proud of these fans who are always behind us,” he continued. “They give us so much love and support.”

“It’s all for them, for us, and for our families who suffer along with us.”

“We kept the Coppa trophy that we won last season at home,” he said of what winning yesterday represented.

“We struggled against a good Fiorentina team, but it was important for us to keep our title.”

“I’m in the best moment of form of my career,” Martinez said. “I’m happy because I’m physically fit, I’m happy.”
