Atalanta defender Berat Djimsiti is anticipating a tough battle against Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku in tomorrow’s Serie A clash.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the 30-year-old highlighted the Belgian Nerazzurri striker’s ability in one-on-one duels for the ball and his pace as elements that will make him difficult to contain.

Lukaku is set to start against Atalanta tomorrow evening

The 30-year-old will likely keep up the pattern of coming off the bench in midweek and then starting over the weekend.

This will not be good news for the Atalanta defense, in the view of La Dea defender Djimsiti.

Atalanta Star Djimsiti: Romelu Lukaku Toughest Inter Striker To Come Up Against

The Albanian was asked who he expects to be the toughest Nerazzurri striker to come up against.

“Lukaku is the one who’s really tough to move,” he said. “And he’s also really fast.”

Asked what he saw from Inter against Fiorentina, Djimsiti replied “Quality players, experience. And they know how to bring home matches even when they don’t play at their best.”

Djimsiti: Facing Inter After Coppa Italia Final Not An Advantage For Atalanta

Next, Djimsiti was asked whether he thinks that it will be an advantage to face Inter so soon after the Coppa Italia.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has publicly claimed about the timing of the fixtures. Inter will have less than 72 hours to rest and prepare between the matches.

However, Djimsiti replied “No,” when asked about it.

“When we played in Europe, in other words every three days, it was much better for me.”

“Win or lose, you have to forget, start again immediately. Which is what Inter will do.”

Asked whether he feels that Inter are now the strongest team in Serie A, Djimsiti replied “Now that Napoli have won the Scudetto, I’d say yes.”
